Savor the Season with Terra GR

When my friends and I were faced with the decision of where to go for our girls night last Friday, we were overwhelmed.

nn

Good food? In Grand Rapids?

nn

There are just way too many options.

nn

We weighed the pros and cons of our favorite restaurants, and one came out as our clear choice: Terra GR.

nn

nn

Wrapped in our coats, we ran through the doors of Terra to get out of the cold night. We were greeted by a warm, glowing atmosphere. We sat down, grabbed the dessert menu first (obviously), and began the neverending chatter that comes with good friendship.

nn

Now, I say “neverending,” but that would be incorrect. The reason I’m sharing this with you is because I have discovered the only thing capable of silencing our chit-chat: Terra GR food.

nn

As soon as our food was brought to the table, our conversation slowed; when we tasted the food, it stopped. The food was just that good. Some things demands savoring.

nn

When Terra GR says they use the best ingredients, it isn’t just a slogan. Their kitchen’s creations use seasonal, locally-sourced ingredients – and it shows. Whether you order the Ham & Apple Wood-Fired Pizza, Miso Kale Salad, or Goat Cheese Cheesecake, you can be assured of it’s sustainable source, healthful nutrition and delicious taste. With an open kitchen, their chef’s are on display preparing each dish with care, honesty and expertise.

nn

Terra GR is a great place for a friendship gathering like mine, but families and couples will be sure to find it just as inviting. Still not convinced? Try it yourself during happy hour with a homemade pizza from a wood-fired oven or a half-off salad. Discounted artisan wines, inventive handcrafted cocktails (using fresh squeezed juices and local spirits) and an all-Michigan craft draft beer list make Terra GR an awesome place for drinks as well as food.

nn

You can even bring a taste of Terra home with you by trying out this recipe from the kitchen: Brussel Sprout & Pecan salad with Dijon Dressing (recipe below).

nn

nn

Alternatively, you can sample Terra GR at Fork Fest, Local First’s harvest festival on October 23. Come join the celebration at Romence Gardens and Greenhouses from 5-9pm to taste for yourself this restaurant’s incredible fare.
